Our Mission

Continuing in the business originally founded by Ray Johnston in 1948, The LoudSpeaker Store is located in Kent, Washington. Our goal is to restore your speakers to their original operating condition. We employ tried and proven scientific methods, and lab test each and every driver and assembled speaker to be certain, beyond a doubt, that our work meets or exceeds the original manufacturer’s specs.

Should I fix my old speakers or buy new ones?

Consider that fundamental speaker technology has not changed since the 1930’s. What HAS changed is the manner in which the industry designs and builds speakers, such as using computers to model designs before building, refined materials and modern manufacturing techniques.

Your twenty, thirty or even forty-year-old speakers are at least as good as or possibly superior to many of today’s models. The LoudSpeaker Store uses repair techniques developed in-house which are guaranteed to preserve your speaker’s original performance as closely as possible. While newer speakers are certainly going to be a temptation, you’re typically going to pay a giant premium for something comparable to your old speakers in sound and build quality. By restoring your existing speakers, you are likely to save close to 95 percent of the cost of purchasing comparable new ones.

Project of the Month: Infinity IRS II

Most small business owners will testify that any phone call in which the caller on the other end utters the words “IRS” is usually cause for panic followed by several rounds at the local Beer Stube.
